MTX THUNDERFORMS
Every car or truck has wasted space. You know, the places behind or beneath the seats where loose change and French fries hide. Those spaces are crying for bass. MTX Audio responds with ThunderForm vehicle-specific subwoofer enclosures.
They're available in a variety of colors to match the interior of your particular vehicle and so you don't have to compromise its cosmetic integrity. This is especially nice for those who lease their vehicles and want to enjoy added bass without the added hassle of messy installations.
The material in ThunderForm enclosures is a high-density polyethylene resin, which is resilient enough to transform into various shapes, yet rigid enough to avoid flexing. It also has enough density to dampen any resonance (No cabinet "ping" allowed).
On amplified ThunderForm models, we've added an on-board, 200-watt, Class-D amplifier. The amp is highly efficient and has been designed specifically for the subwoofer in the enclosure. You get deep, low bass without having to wire in a separate amplifier. MTX Audio's "Smart-Engage" Circuitry (patent pending) eliminates the need to remove your factory head unit during most installations (now, if you don't know how much time that feature alone will save you, just go sit in your car, and imagine having to tear out the whole dash ... and really hope you don't snap any of the clips in there).
Amplified ThunderForm models feature a proprietary woofer design utilizing a .35 ohm for single woofer, (.7 ohm in parallel for dual woofer), long excursion voice coil. This design takes full advantage of the efficiency of Class D amplifier design while delivering powerful, low-frequency extension. Add all of these features up, along with over voltage, over current, and voice coil short protection, and you have a unit that looks and operates like it came as an original part of the vehicle. The included wiring kit contains a 20' power harness, gold-plated power and ground ring terminals, and a custom-tooled MTX Audio fuse holder.

The loaded enclosure is constructed from heavy-duty material and is ported and tuned for optimal performance. The heavy-duty construction of the enclosure virtually eliminates resonance, providing far more defined bass tones. The subwoofer is highly efficient, producing louder bass from less power.
The internal amplifier is Class-D high-efficiency, and all Performance Active Enclosures include an 8 gauge wiring kit. Performance Active Enclosures prove you can have quality, value, and performance in one box - the simplest route to extreme bass.

MTX THUNDER 8000 SERIES
Thunder 8000 subwoofers are the newest edition to the MTX subwoofer family. These subwoofers prove the old saying “too good to be true” to be incorrect. These subwoofers are as excellent as they appear. Utilizing proven MTX subwoofer technologies like Asymmetrical Linear Drive System and Spider Plateau Venting, these subwoofers deliver all the bass and performance that true bass heads expect from MTX. These subwoofers feature a cast aluminum basket that reduces resonance, thereby improving sound quality, a high roll rubber surround that increases subwoofer surface diameter so it can move more air, and a glass fiber cone that has an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio allowing it to have increased sensitivity. T8000 subwoofers also incorporate 8AWG compression terminals for reliable speaker wire connection and 428º aluminum voice coil wire that allows them to endure extreme playing conditions.
MTX FPR SERIES
Putting a huge enclosure in your trunk may not be practical for your lifestyle, or maybe you drive a truck and don't have any room for an enclosure but you still want to upgrade your sound system with some extra bass. FPR subwoofers are the ideal solution. Designed with less than 3.5" of mounting depth, these subwoofers can perform in extremely small enclosures, as small as 0.6 cubic feet.
The FPR use a patent pending design in which the spider is attached to the front plate rather than the basket. This allows the subwoofer to achieve greater excursion, resulting in more volume displacement. The subwoofer also employs mechanical cooling with MTX's Spider Plateau Venting, which continuously targets cool air at the voice coil. Finally, the cone utilizes a bubble shape that increases the cone strength as well as an aluminum dust cap which dissipates heat away from the voice coil.
Additionally, FPR series subwoofers overcome the problems that other shallow mount subwoofers face in that they are able to play extremely low frequencies. This is important, especially for Rap and Hip-Hop listeners who have a certain expectation for what they are going to hear. The 12" version can play as low as 22Hz and the 10" version can play down to 25Hz. All in all, the MTX FPR series is the ideal choice for anyone that wants an awesome bass experience with the convenience and benefits of a shallow mount design.
