The Cowboys lost a heartbreaker to the Buccaneers in Week 1. Here are five bold predictions on how Dallas’ Week 2 contest with the Chargers will unfold.

Moral victories aren’t a currency that holds much value in Dallas. The Cowboys came close to picking up a big win over the Buccaneers in Week 1, but Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay offense proved too powerful in the end. That leaves Dak Prescott and his teammates searching for their first victory of the season when they travel to take on the Chargers in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Chargers will come into Sunday’s game flying high after a narrow Week 1 win at Washington. This game has a chance to develop into a shootout between Prescott and Justin Herbert. That will make for great television but may not be the best recipe for success for a Cowboys victory.

This should be one of the most interesting games on the Week 2 docket. Cowboys fans should pay attention to the five following bold predictions.

5. Jabril Cox will play meaningful snaps

Fifth-round picks aren’t generally forced into significant action early during their rookie seasons. Cox will find himself thrown into the fire against the Chargers’ high-flying aerial attack in this game.

The former LSU standout is going to find himself on the field on obvious passing downs. Part of his job will be to stop Jared Cook from hurting the Cowboys’ defense on short and intermediate throws. Keanu Neal will be Dallas’ first option to handle that role, but he’ll need support from his rookie understudy.
