Set to kick off February 1, 2022 until February 4th will be a fashion week that has put Scandinavia on fashion connoisseurs’ radars. With thirty-five brands showing including emerging talents like A. Roege Hove and (di)vision, as well as, international Nordic brands from Stine Goya, Saks Potts, and others. The rising and known fashion week, as of now is planning to do their shows in person, along with live streams for the brands that will show digitally on copenhagenfashionweek.com or through their YouTube channel.
According to notes from the house: “The AW22 edition will also see a welcome return to the likes of Martin Asbjørn and Wood Wood.” Jade Cropper, the winner of this season’s Talent Slot, will present for the first time as part of Copenhagen Fashion Week. “And for the third season the Zalando Sustainability Award, Iso.Poetism by Tobias Birk Nielsen, Fassbender and Tomorrow Denim will present their collections as finalists, with the winner announced during the AW22 edition.”
The in-person shows will take place in the official Zalando venue and the winner will be announced during AW22.
“As we continue to focus on the responsibility of our industry to incubate and strengthen the future of Nordic fashion, we are excited to welcome Jade Cropper as this season’s Talent and take the opportunity to introduce her exceptional vision to our international audience,” says Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week.
The talent slot will go to Jade Cooper whose brand focuses on challenging female beauty with her deconstructed silhouettes as she focuses on sustainable materials and handmade prints. Copenhagen Fashion Week seeks to support young voices and Julie Gilhart CDO of Tomorrow Ltd and President to Tomorrow Projects will mentor with the mentorship program to Cropper.
“Winning the talent slot means the world to me. Getting recognition for all the work I have put into my designs is truly wonderful,” says Cropper. “You can expect a more mature line up than the previous one, but with the same DNA in the designs.”
Turning to menswear, the fashion week will feature men’s looks with a curated selection from Schnayderman’s and (di)vision. And more well-known designers from Henrik Vibskov, Soulland, Wood Wood, Martin Asbjørn and Samsøe Samsøe will include menswear in addition to womenswear.
Laird Borrelli-Persson, Archive Editor at Vogue.com; Ida Petersson, Fashion Buying Director of Browns Fashion; Christopher J. Morency, Editorial Director of Highsnobiety; will all curate the fashion week, as well as Dio Kurazawa, Co-Founder of the Bear Scouts; Julie Gilhart, CDO of Tomorrow Ltd. & President of Tomorrow Projects.
